What We Do
Our Core Functions
We have 6 core functions which guide our work:
- Development: We identify unmet need and help others meet that need through development of new services.
For example: We do this by consulting with the community about local issues. - Supporting local voluntary and community groups: We provide information, advice and support to both groups and indiduals.
For example: We do this by helping groups with charity registration, funding advice and administrative support. - Liaison: We enable and encourage people from different agencies and sectors to meet and develop links.
For example: We do this by co-ordinating meetings such as the Village Hall Forum and the Voluntary Sector Forum. - Enabling Representation: We enable the voluntary and community sector to out forward their views and act as a voice where appropriate
For example: We do this by seeking views on local, regional and national plans or strategies. - Partnership Work: We encourage local voluntary and statutory agencies to plan together for the benefit of the community.
For example: We do this by coming together with Police, Social Services, Health and Councils to help improve community safety. - Direct Services: We provide services to support individuals where there is unmet need and no other organisation can provide this service.
For example: We do this by organising a lunch club and a social car scheme.
