Southern Derbyshire Health & Social Care Forum
Do you have an interest in local health and social care issues?
Southern Derbyshire Health & Social Care Forum meets quarterly and covers the four Derbyshire Districts of Amber Valley, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash and South Derbyshire.
The meetings provide an important opportunity for representatives from local voluntary and community groups to discuss health and social care issues and influence service planning with statutory agencies.The next meeting will take place on
Wednesday 1st February 2012 from 10am until 1.30pm at St Oswald's Church Hall in Ashbourne
Free - light refreshments and lunch provided.
Includes presentations about Derbyshire County Council Adult Care Preventative Strategy, the new countywide Trusted Befriending Network and Derbyshire Healthwatch.

Voluntary Sector Forum
The next South Derbyshire Voluntary Sector Forum will be onWednesday 8th February 2012 at South Derbyshire District Council (Committee Room), Swadlincote.
Open to all voluntary and community groups in South Derbyshire.
It will start at 9.30 am with the following sub-groups:
- South Derbyshire District Council Communities and Equalities Group (formerly Values and Attitudes
- Volunteer Managers' Forum
- Children's Trust VCI Roadshow
The Voluntary Sector Forum will start at 11am and the main agenda item will be the Oaklands 55+ Housing Development in Swadlincote.

A programme of funding events and surgeries are available for local voluntary and community groups in South Derbyshire during February - May 2012
Don't miss these valuable opportunities to meet funders, discuss funding options and access funding. All events are FREE, but booking is essential.
Funders include Derbyshire County Council Community Action Grants (16 Feb), Children in Need (8 Mar), Derbyshire Sport (4 Apr), The Key Fund (11 Apr), Unltd. (19 Apr) and Awards for All (9 May)

FriendShop - New Shopping Service
South Derbyshire CVS is now offering FriendShop a new Shopping Service for people who struggle to get out to do essential shopping (for example, due to ill health or a disability).
One of our friendly and trusted volunteers will come and collect the person's shopping list and return with the items they need.
FriendShop can provide short-term help or a regular service.
If you or your family, friends or service users would benefit from this kind of help please contact us.
A fee is charged for each shop to cover our running costs plus the cost of the volunteer's mileage.
