
1. What does CVS do?
Our aim at South Derbyshire CVS is to work with voluntary organisations, community groups and individuals to improve the quality of life in South Derbyshire. We do this by providing information, advice and support through a wide range of services.
2. Are you independent from the Statutory Sector? e.g. Councils, Social Services and Health?
Yes, although we work in partnership to plan, improve and develop services. We also aim to however, to represent your views and there may be times when we challenge their policies and practice.
3. Do you provide a confidential service?
Yes, we aim to provide a confidential service but there are circumstances when this may not be possible, e.g when a child may be at risk. Please ask for a copy of our confidentiality policy.
4. Do give grants?
Our role is to help you obtain funding from other services. However we hold a small budget specifically to assist self help groups to operate.
5. Are there any costs?
All of our advice, information and support services are free. Although there may be a charge for other services.
6. What area do you cover?
We are committed to working within the area covered by South Derbyshire District Council.
7. Where is CVS?
Our base is 46-48 Grove Street, Swadlincote. Other voluntary organisations and community groups share our building.
8. When are you open?
The office is open from 9.00 am - 4.30 pm, Monday - Friday. However, we are able to offer services outside these hours. For more information contact CVS.
