Safer Homes South Derbyshire

What is Safer Homes South Derbyshire?
Safer Homes is a mobile joinery service working to improve security in the homes of elderly and vulnerable people. The scheme works by installing additional door and window locks and other appropriate equipment free of charge.

As well as installing additional safety and security measures, the Safer Homes Joiner, Paul Taylor will also give free crime prevention advice.

The Scheme, which has been set up by the South Derbyshire Crime & Disorder Partnership, is oeprated on a day-to-day basis by the CVS. Anyone with questions or who would like referal forms should contact them at:

How are referrals made?
To refer one of your clients, all you have to do is fill in a referral form. Contact South Derbyshire CVS for a copy of the leaflet or download a pdf version from this site. Paul Taylor will contact the client to discuss their requirements. Arrangements will then be made for the work to be done.

To qualify for home security equipment, residents must be aged over 60 and be in receipt of one of the following:
